I lost my voice at least twice during Army basic training. I don’t how these guys manage to do this as a career.

I wouldn’t last two seconds in the military lol. This is my only reaction to screaming of any kind.

You only stay on the trail for a couple years then you rotate out. My drill sergeants lost their voice often.

That reaction wouldn’t last long. You’d get smoked for an hour or so and be so tired you just break. But that is the whole point any way.

Basic training wasn’t too bad, the first week or two sucked hardcore but after that you pretty much get used to it. It all becomes monotonous by then and you know what to do and what not to do. The hardest part was being away from home and not seeing loved ones.

Takes me back, but also gives me a slight fever as I remember the pain I put myself through. Tip to would be Marine recruits, don’t be faster on the 3-mile PFT than all of the DI’s. The congratulations from the SDI’s and officers is not worth the hazefest that you encounter back in the squad bay.
